The Camp Cook Helper supports  the Camp Cook in  washing dishes, cleaning, prepping food (peeling, chopping), and stocking supplies.  The incumbent insures that kitchen duties are performed in accordance with safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wash, peel, cut vegetables and fruit
• Wash and clean work tables, equipment and appliances, sanitizing work surfaces
• Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
• Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas
• Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff
• Wash dishes, glassware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand
• Place dishes in storage area
• Clear and clean tables in eating areas

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service role
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and sanitation procedures.

   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Capable of standing for long periods
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects 50+lbs
• Bending, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch
• Work with chemicals
• Handle manual tasks in a kitchen
